Poem 17

A happy ending
is a story abandoned
at the right time.

In a castle where everyone knows their place,
the mouse is happiest.

Trade fins for feet
for a faster trip
to the funeral.

How long she guarded
her porcelain heart.
How quick it broke
at the lion's touch.

Beauty counsels: Put your mask on
and never take it off.
